What is the Future Goddess? The Goddess of Fate, the Patron of War, Protector of Innocence, Defender of Justice, High Magician? Well, she was a unique girl, all right. She studied Magic, a lost art in 9000 A.D., and became the greatest magician there was...but there was more to that. Read this story and find out...
Zero Zero: Future Goddess
0 A.D...
A long, long time ago, on a planet called Earth, there were three goddesses. The Past Goddess, the Present Goddess, and the Future Goddess. They ruled the Earth fairly and wisely. But one day, the mortals rebelled. They turned their backs on the Goddesses and worshiped each other. The Goddesses decided they were simply not needed and, one by one, stepped into the river Lethe and were forgotten. However, the Future Goddess was a bit more compassionate than her fellow goddesses, and, before she went into the River, used her most powerful magic to create a Goddess Seed, lest the world fall into peril in the future. The Goddess Seed would grow one year for each thousand mortal years. When the Seed hatched, a new Future Goddess would rise from it and save the Earth...
Then the Future Goddess was gone, leaving only in heaven this bright shining Goddess Seed. Inside the Seed was a tiny baby girl surrounded by light....
9000 A.D...
Earth's glory was far past. Now, most people lived in Space Stations orbiting the Earth, for Earth was now far too hot fo any sane person to live on. Criminals were executed by being marooned on the now desert-like Earth, and they were never seen again. Now, the largest space station of them all was called Joukaei. Joukaei was the most beautiful, spacious, and Former-Earth-like of them all. Most people lived in this station.
But all was not well. At midnight December 31, 8999 A.D., Space Pirates attacked. They hacked at the space station, shot rockets at it, and...well...did nasty things. Just when Joukaei was about to be destroyed, a passing space traveler shot down the pirates. The people cheered, and welcomed the weary traveler. He was a humanoid pilot, very young and handsome. The president of Joukaei invited him to stay in the palace, and the pilot accepted. And so, he came to live in the palace and receive a salary from the president....
But he never told anyone his name...
The next night...the traveler was somehow compelled to go outside...and he did, running past his snoring robot butler, Kiyube. He saw a bright sphere of light where there had been nothing before. He ran across the artificially cultivated meadow and stood before the light. The brightness faded and there stood a little girl clothed in a loose white robe. She had her eyes closed, and her hands were pressed together, as if she was praying. The girl had wavy auburn hair, a small frame, and pale skin that clashed with her bright red lips.
The girl opened her eyes. "Papa."
The stranger's hard heart melted. "Welcome home."
Five Days Later...
"MISTRESSSSS!!!" Kiyube-2700's shrill voice interrupted Lily's dream. "Time to wake UUUUUUUP!"
Lily groaned and rolled over. It was Friday, which meant hand-to-hand fighting, which she simply HATED! Fistfighting...why couldn't she study the elegant form of fencing, or even better-MAGIC?! Ah, magic. A lost art in 9000 A.D. Flick the wrist, chant two words, and WHOMP! The enemy, no matter how high-tech their equipment was, would end up flat on the ground and unconscious. And it wasn't cheating because no one alive knew what the heck magic was.
Except for some girl named Wendy, The Magic Master, and some other people...
Anyway, Lily rolled out of bed and sighed. She pressed a button on a control pad that was attached to her bedroom wall, like her father did every morning, and a robotic hand brought her her Friday dress. She quickly changed into it and exited the module.
It was a sunny morning. Or whatever. Papa said that an advanced technology system broadcasted an imitation of Earth's atmosphere onto the clear dome of the space station.
Err...whatever. Lily walked to the door of the martial arts school. It was a green circle with a green button beside it. She pressed the button and spoke her name. Then, the green circle disintegrated. Lily stepped inside, and the circle reintegrated. Then, something startling happened. The floor under Lily suddenly disappeared, leaving the girl to fall down a chute and land with a loud PLUNK on the floor of the fighting classroom.
"You're late, Odayle." Carlin Foxglove's harsh voice nearly split Lily's ears.
"Sorry, sir." mumbled Lily, running her hands through her hair.
"Shouldnt've taken up a girl for a student, eh?" Carlin shook his head in disgust. "Always primping and dressing up."
Lily's temper got the better of her. "Well, I don't want to be here anyway! Fighting is stupid when you can fence and do magic!"
Lily stomped home. Carlin had put her in solitary confinement for the whole class, and that idiot Horst Heinlmann had kicked her in the shins when trying to kick a robotic target. Well, one day she'd show them. She'd beat them all in the fighting competition, fair and square. Well, not like she COULD cheat, anyway. Special hidden microscopic cameras were hidden EVERYWHERE to make sure there was no cheating.
"How was school?" said Kiyube when an exhausted Lily burst through the door.
Lily just walked to her module and flopped down onto her bed. She growled and imagined sticking a sword into Kiyube. He was SO annoying sometimes. However, he was their butler, and to be respected. She jumped on her bed, and the TV turned on.
"Dang!" she thought as she found the remote under the spot where she'd jumped. She was just about to turn off the 32" TV when what she saw made her blood run cold.
"Today, A group of rebels from Earth astride space dragons attacked the Space Station Zillus. It appears that they were aiming for Joukaei, but made a mistake and shot Zillus instead. Zillus is now undergoing heavy reconstructive repairs; meanwhile its inhabitants were sent to temporarily live on Taerag. The citizens of Joukaei must be vigilant..."
Lily's mouth had dropped open in horror. Earth rebels? This could mean trouble. A loud shriek from the kitchen let her know that Kiyube had been watching television, too...
Just then, a loud BOOM!!! shook the room. Lily opened the curtains and looked out the window. People were running to and fro, screaming and tripping over one another as bombs sailed down onto the hapless city. Lily screamed, but kept her wits enough to remember something that her father had taught her.
"In case of an accident, grab your most treasured belongings, get on Kiyube's back, call me, and RUN LIKE HECK TO THE SPACEPORT!!!"
Lily threw her crystal ball, favorite jewelry, laptop, cell phone, and some clothes into a stealproof suitcase. She ran into the kitchen. "KIYUBE!"
Kiyube had done what his mistress had, and said, "All ready, mistress?"
"YEAH! NOW GO!"
Kiyube shrugged and let Lily get on his back. Then, he turned on his turbo-rockets and zoomed out of the house.
The outside of Joukaei Space Station was burning, and people were shrieking and running around. Kiyube managed to get to the spaceport, where Lily called her father. The space pilot arrived almost immediately, and they managed to escape on Lily's father's spaceship.
Just as Joukaei blew up. But then, seeing the few ships that had flown away from the exploding space station, the rebels chased after the survivors with the intent to destroy them. Lily could feel the hate and bitter jealousy that the rebels felt as they shot laser beams at the unarmed ships. All of a sudden, the Joukaei fleet stopped. The chase had been a trap! They'd been lured into the Rebels' space station! Lily's father, who was, after all, a space pilot, talked to the other pilots and taught them how to escape. 3...2...1...BLASTOFF!!!
The trick worked, but the impact of the ships crashing into the space station's wall threw Lily backwards and through a window. She landed with a loud THUMP on the floor. Her suitcase clattered down beside her. The last thing Lily saw before fainting was her father and Kiyube's horrified faces as they flew away, no longer able to control the ship. Horst Heinelmann had also fallen out of his parents' ship by accident, and he landed face down on the floor and lay quite still. More thumps indicated that several children had fallen out of the spaceships and onto the floor.
Then darkness.
6 Years Later...
"SILVERPAW! IRONBLADE!" The Captain's harsh voice barked out the kids' nicknames. "Girl, move faster! Boy, you're just plain useless!"
Silverpaw pushed her headband back as to keep them off of her eyes. She pushed the lever with her silver-gloved hands and pulled it back. The space station moved. Her friend, Ironblade, tried to do the same, but just slumped onto the lever and groaned. The long, heavy space sword that hung from his belt was no help.
Silverpaw cursed and pushed harder. The space station moved more. The teenage girl ran her hand through her long, wavy auburn hair and tried to remember her life before this one. She'd had a proper name...Lilo, was it? Lila? Naw, it was a flower name...Rose? Tulip? Lily? Yeah, Lily. And she'd been pretty wealthy. She had a father, a butler, and lived in one of the infidels' space stations. Yuck. She'd only lived there for what, a week? Before that, she could remember nothing but the bright light and the warm, kind face. And there was her mother...
"SILVERPAW! STOP DAYDREAMING!" barked the Captain. He swiftly switched both her and Ironblade with his wooden stick. "FASTER!"
Silverpaw pushed harder. The space station moved. Ironblade finally pushed and pulled, and it became much easier for Silverpaw to do her job. She grinned at Ironblade, then at her other friend, Cockygrist who was also moving the space station. Cockygrist grinned back, her wide smile enhancing her dark, exotic face.
"ENOUGH!" bellowed the Captain. "You may rest now."
Silverpaw sighed and walked to her quarters. She shared them with Cockygrist, who'd received her nickname due to her cockiness and her being as "tough as grist".
"Cripes, Silver, you look dreadful tired right now." Cocky said to her friend. She looked concerned.
"Naw, I'm fine..." said Silverpaw. Her voice drifted off as she tried to remember more of Before. She sighed. Back in Joukaei or whatever the heck her home was called, everyone would've been shocked by her clothing. She was wearing a bathing suit-like silver garment that covered up just enough. However, the captain said that by flaunting her figure, Silverpaw could make the young men work harder.
Errr...yeah.
Anyway, Silverpaw opened the door for Cocky, then went inside herself. Cocky immediately flopped down onto the single bed. "You get to sleep on the floor!"
Silverpaw pretended to look hurt. "Aw, nuts! Cocky, you're so mean!"
Cocky smacked her gum and grinned. She rolled over and fell asleep. Just then, there was a knock at the door. Silverpaw answered it. The visitor was a young man, probably not much older than she was. He was of average height but thin, and he had yellow eyes and green hair.
Once-spiky green hair that appeared to have been flushed down the toilet.
"Are you...okay?" asked Silverpaw. She winced.
"Yeah, fine." the boy looked around nervously. "Um, could I use your bathroom? I kind of..."
"Yeah, yeah, same old same old. Go ahead." Silverpaw jabbed her finger toward the bathroom door. "And hurry up, I gotta pee."
The Future Goddess was not pleased. The world of mortals was a mess! She sighed. If only she had form and powers again. But she had destroyed her body and power in the River, but as a goddess she could not die. Also, her successor was dressing like a slut and parading her body in front of handsome young men! Terrible! She sighed. But then, there was new hope. A young man, dressed in green, was asleep in bed on a planet very far away from Earth. She smiled. This messenger, this carrier, would tell the new Future Goddess of her destiny. Then, maybe she'd stop her slutty behavior and discover her inner power. But if.....
Link rolled over in his sleep. He was dreaming about that girl...
Again.
Link had no idea why he was dreaming about a slut who worked in a space station, but he did every night...dang, why couldn't he dream about the Princess Zelda? Chatting with her, diving off Wither Falls, and...Link tried not to think about THAT! Well, he rolled over again, and was suddenly aware of something tickling his nose.
"HEY! LISTEN!" Navi was zooming around the sleeping kokiri's head. "TODAY'S THE DAY!"
The boy rubbed his head and got dressed. Now he'd find the Future Goddess's successor and tell her of her destiny to restore Earth, wherever the galaxy that was.
TO BE CONTINUED. DUH.
Note: This is a PM2 Fanfic that takes place in the future AND a Zelda fanfic. In case you want to know.
